Hi, I'm Brooke Permenter.
I love the curiosity and creativity that drive students forward as emerging adults. My first academic love was art, but with 25 years of academic experience there, I recognized the shift of my passion from art history to student development. Whether I was teaching in the classroom, advising in the office, or collaborating on applications, supporting students fueled my best work.
My goal as an Independent Educational Consultant is to help students find the best educational experiences to meet their individual needs.
For years, I've worked with college students to aid in their self-recognition of personal strengths. Now I'm doing that for you instead of the institutions. I am a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling (SACAC), and the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC). My background includes a PhD and over 15 years of higher education experience. I am also completing the Certificate Program for College Admission Consulting at the University of California, Berkeley.
